A Japanese made Vixen Super Polaris 80/910mm has been modified to accept Vixen flip mirror diagonal, with added twist (and turn). Guide camera holder is magnetically coupled, and allows quick and simple push/twist movement for finding a guide star EVERY TIME. Searchable area is a circle nearly two degrees across. Candidate guide stars can be inspected with a (supplied) eyepiece, but in the end I simply scanned the area after framing the main scope and always found an appropriate guide star; without looking.

A long focal length and exceptional optical quality allows for super tight guiding (see attached shot of 47 Tuc done with a 10" f/5.6 scope, guided with this combo. Jpeg compression predictably butchers it even after size reduction, so a small 100pc crop is also attached).

Of course it is a great little refractor in its own right. With a supplied 2" adapter it allows use of 2" diagonals and although it can't fully illuminate 50mm circle (focuser drawtube is 42mm I.D.) it will absolutely knock your socks off with likes of 35mm Panoptic or 27mm Nagler.

Supplied with original Vixen rings (no dovetail) and original Vixen 6x30 "swing" finder. It does show signs of use with few scratches here and there but optics are perfect, clean with no marks or fungus.

Bargain at $300 ono.
