Your other alternative is a roll off roof of course, which has the advantage of not looking like an observatory.

I am very happy with my Sirius dome, mounted on a home built circular wall. The dome rotates smoothly with a push from one finger and no leaks. Mark

thanks, mark. I would probably have to by the whole kit as I am just not that handy. but the "no leaks" part is encouraging.
