I recommend getting involved with Astrobin -- the fact that you made the effort to go out there and capture the target is proof enough that your images are not second rate. Astrobin is not an elitist community...any and all image contributions are important, regardless of perceived quality. Plus, it has a nifty feature which allows you to publish in-line any revisions you might make to the original image, due to better post processing, more data etc.
