Wild dogs and feral cats are a major problem in the Blue Mountain's in Sydney's west. Dogs in particular are frequent visitors to Katoomba Airfield which we use as a dark site. The mutts are not a problem for us though - they don't come within cooee of us. But they are most common down the far end of the runway away from where human activity happens. An early morning inspection of the dirt showed very fresh tracks made only hours/moments earlier. A lot of track, and by several individual animals.
Might try rousing them next time I'm up there by howling and see what sort of reaction I get. They're suckers for that old chestnut!
