Three days ago he bagged a 1.51 sec occultation of Deimos (the 12km satellite of Mars) - Mars is about mag -0.7 (= very bright) and the star was mag +8.9 …
It's a first for Deimos, and likely the smallest occulter (12km) ever observed. Deimos was just 20 arc sec from Mars at the time.
John Broughton in Qld sent Bill the prediction, and 4 hours later it was in the bag.
Stirring stuff !
