Hi Max, nice to here from a new voice. I'm pushing 80, and struggle with the black art of digital imaging, so I keep it simple.
8" f/5 Newt on HEQ5 mount. Unguided. I don't have any means of guiding, and can't be bothered with manual guiding any more, it gives
me a crick in the neck. JPEGS only, too much hassle converting raw
files. I haven't dithered up to now, as I figure that imperfect polar
alignment allowing the target to slowly migrate across the frame does
it for me. I don't do separate darks, flats, biases etc: It is a bit
inconvenient, but I just enable in camera noise reduction. Stack in DSS,
Do the simple RGB, luminance, and saturation in DSS. A little touch of
sharpening, and downsizing for the web in Canon software that came with the camera, and that's it.
