I remember back in the mid 70's when I started work, one of the guys I worked with had been working in his previous job on an internal combustion engine that ran on coal. It apparently pulverised the coal into a fine dust and injected it into some sort of combustion chamber. It is a pitty it hasn't taken off, you could store a months fuel when it is cheap in the garage! Or if you are going "off road" take a spare bag or two.
