Yes i run the splitter cable type, my two heaters draw about 1.4A.

Its really the gauge of the wires/conductors inside that will limit the amperage you can pass through. If its too thin, they could heat up and melt.

RCA's isnt really rated for electrical current but the conductors ive seen on most of them should handle at least 5A.
