I'm optimistic that when we reach the point when we collectively realise that it isn't smart to defer the costs associated with fossil fuel energy, we will also stop wasting it on unnecessary lighting.

Please don't turn this into another diatribe on climate change. Most people know Australia is an insignificant player in the global greenhouse gas issue, what we do or don't do will not affect the outcome. Send your concerns to China, India, SE Asia, the US, etc etc.
Watch the budget dismantle all the departments, advisory boards, consultancies, programs, and other leftie jobs associated with anything climate change. We paid for (or rather Labour borrowed money to set all of that up) and now the chickens come home to roost.
