My guess is some form of superannuation levy will cut in later on
and also death duties when that doesnt work.
( eg We think you now have too much super for your needs
and we need it more than you )
That way if you save for your retirement they get it either way
and when you die they get the lot.
By forcing/tricking you into putting money into "locked away" super,
vs under the bed or property etc,
they know exactly where it is and can get it with the press of a button.
It will be too big a pot of money for them to ignore shortly.
