IC2944 and Thackeray Globules Ha

Another project I am sort of working on.

I did this object some years ago with the RC8 and QSI583. I like this field of view better with the STXL 11002 covering a bit more ground and showing some of the surrounding dust clouds.

This is 5 x 30 minutes subs so far.

Low noise already so it might not need a lot of data to control the noise. I am thinking maybe 15 -20 hours of data collection required.

As you can see the star shapes in the corners are not great and I seem to have more tilt at the top of the image over the bottom. I have had some odd guiding behaviour last night with several more subs being lost because guiding would all of a sudden jump, with the result producing egg shaped stars. There was no apparent reason for the error, so I am hoping it is one of those glitches that happen sometimes with automation. If it results again I will need to investigate further. The bad subs were rejected, but one or two subs in this image have some misshape to the stars. In the end I will use data which will not exhibit this problem.
