The telescope itself is good. Last night I got great views of Eta Carinae and Tarantula Nebulae especially when I put a UHC filter(not included) on the end of the eyepiece.
However there are two mechanical issues you need to consider if you want to consider a buy here.
When the telescope is clamped on the fork there is a slight amount of slop.
Not enough to completely change the field of view but still a detectable rock. Unit tracks well though inspite of this. I have had this unit setup for astrophotography with a guide scope and counter weights and this didn't seem to effect its performance unless I physically rocked the scope of course. It maybe of course this slight loosening has come about with the extra strain.
One of the tripod legs is slightly deformed and needs gentle but firm persuasion to come out if it has been completely pushed in for storage and transport.
Obviously I don't want to scare folks off here but its a reasonably old scope and I have put it too a fair bit of use.
Cheers
Michael
