I have used large GUI GOTO's - Vixen Starbooks of all incarnations. I HATE THEM! It's like a gameboy!
I like the Synscan simplicity VERY much. It tells me what I need and that's it. I am not in need of an atlas etc. Tried them, HATE them. Don't even like EQMOD through Stellarium etc on my PC. Even the multi-line iOptron display to me was too much.
I prescribe to the KISS principle, and this is what Skywatcher seems to do too. I have never needed anything else, don't think I will either. It makes imaging easier in my opinion,as the HC is easy to hold as you adjust target centering, focus etc (if not robotic).
