Many thanks to AstroJason for the crash course in operating my little DSLR, and techniques for gathering my first data.
Canon 1100D on el cheapo tripod, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, ISO1600, 30 second exposures, 5 or 6 frames per subject, stacked in DSS. Pretty well cooked in processing, still getting to grips with things. They look best when small like this
definitely need more subs...
- LMC and SMC, early in the evening
- Looking east, Milky Way stretching really close to the horizon
- Milky Way overhead - now just realised I should I have turned the camera around
- Looking west, Milky Way setting
