Mate, I would reccomend visual astronomy if you are just getting started as astro imaging is a demanding and expensive introduction to our great hobby. I used to be a professional photographer and I never felt the compulsion to image the heavens seriously. Once you have a good grounding in visual astronomy then by all means try astroimaging.
