I did a bit of reprocessing of your image. (as agreed )
I used Photoshop with blurred masks.
I couldn't use much of the Ha data but I did use some for the galaxy.
I worked on contrast & detail in the core.
I increased star colours with LAB mode & made them smaller with curves -
then blurred them slightly.
I didn't get rid of the vertical black lines - it would take ages to do that.
(Woops - I just saw the bright blue star bottom right overdone - doesn't matter.)
I think I made a slight improvement.
Do you think this looks better?
