Are you sure you are talking about Centaurus A (NGC 5128 see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC5128 )? In your scope a 28mm 68deg EP will give a field of about 1.5deg. Not sure it is that big!!
And naked eye observation is possible, but very hard to do.
