The 5 most elongated galaxies in this list are
NGCs 891, 4244, 4517, 4565 and 5170 (see the wikisky org image).
They were all found by William Herschel.
I saw 5170 last night (Thu am) with a 16". The core was easy to see but the ends were very faint.
