I think Scopey raises an important issue. In that the person that sold this to them new it was sub par (Junk), but that never stopped them from selling it to them anyway.
Its something I guess that plagues all industries nowadays, it can be difficult for beginners to sort the wheat from the chaff. It is especially sad for people that don't have lots of spare cash to go through the "Trial and Error" stage
