maybe get some of the thicker double sided tape and make a pad - but stick it on without taking off the smooth backing tape. GSO use this for mounting pads for the mirrors in their Dobs and it stands up to a heavy mirror sliding around on it - the mouse might come to a screeching halt if the smooth backing ever falls of though...
