My small part of the Vela SNR

Hi All,

I've been want to take some pictures of the Vela SNR for many years. Either myself or my equipment hasn't really been up to it.

So here's my first real go at it. Of course I can't capture it all, so I've just picked one area that I liked.

Narrowband image, 2 hours SII, 2 hours OIII, 5 hours Ha. False colour image, in the HST palette, tweaked severely in Photoshop to bring our the contributions from each element. OIII is blue, Ha is yellowish, the SII contributions can be seen where the Ha changes colour to a more red.

Share and enjoy.

Cheers
Stuart

P.S. I added a new version with a different colour scheme, I like the second one best. What does everyone else think?
