Started design of my Pier.
Hi all,
I have started the Pier design stage and it's looking quite good. Below is a reduced image size of the actual design drawing. I basically kept the EQ6 adapter measurements and modified the base to go onto the pier, diameter yet to be determined, I have access to some 154mm ID tube at work with 7mm wall thickness, this is metal not Aluminium, so I may as well use this. The top and bottom sections of the adapter will be machined Aluminium, yet to find out prices on this. I would need two pieces of at lease 250X250x35mm Aluminium Flat for this.
The two parts will be seperated by 4 X 20mm threaded bolts for adjustments to get it perfectly flat. The Bottom section will be secured by 3 x 10mm bolts for adjustments in Azimuth to get it looking at the pole (SCP). Then securely bolted so no movement happens after it is setup.
