In truth Kearn, I just don't do the visual thing now. Since having it, I've only looked at Saturn at some ridiculous magnification (600X) just to check the collimation. Did a respectable job @ that mag.

The Parks newt blows it out of the water for crispness of detail on Saturn at least. Must do some deep sky & compare the results hey.

No! One of my mates is building log cabins.. ..their still the bee's-knee's!

Robert, peculiar you say? I thought it was the norm. I used to get a lot of polar detail with the refractor as well......thinking, thinking.....
