This morning at 5:30 (14:30 afternoon AEDT) I saw a really nice Venus only a half moon angular diameter from the Moon from Montagu, South Africa. Really an amazing sight. The occultation was missed as the shadow passed central Africa and India. I also took a picture after sunrise showing the two crescents.
