We are always looking for ways to improve our images and definitely over the years there have been as many advancements in image processing as there have been in the cameras etc.
At the end of the day though long enough exposure, good tracking, dark skies are the basics that are never replaced and are the foundations of a good image and anything that stengthens them is a good advance.
