The Rosette Nebula

Happy with some parts, but because it's a collage using my C9.25, there are some distortions and the stacking is not as good as it could be. Attached is a lower res jpg, the higher res Tif is on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/skyslab/12471288483/).

Colour is off in the lower left hand - I need more stubs to correct that which will probably happen in time.

I stacked this by hand and eye because I couldn't get anything to rotate + scale + match + stack all the images and put the collage together. I swear the next time I think about doing something like this I'm going to use my WOGT81 and forget about doing a collage!

Celestron 9.25 XLT SCT, F6.3, Paramount MX, OAG, taken using Nebulosity3, darks subtracted with GCX in Ubuntu, post processing with Nebulosity 3, stacked and more processing with GIMPshop in Ubuntu.

Approximately 30 hours of exposure as a collage and probably the same in putting it together. Ready to present to my wife as a rose for Valentine's Day.
