Yes however the read position loop will make a number of readings (and calculations of Alt/azm) while the scope is slewing. It just serves to show the scope is moving just like the old boxes on the LX200.
The scope of course converts the RA/Dec position into alt/azm increments to track but I have never had any trouble in this area. The movement is smooth enough for my use.
