I have SkySolve which is OK. It doesn't work on all fields and rarely works on my smallest FOV (46x46 arcmin).
For the past 6 months or so I have been using Astrotortilla. Since I got the parameters tuned it has been very reliable and fast.
For polar alignment I use PoleAlignMax and a spreadsheet which calculates the JNow position of the SCP. PAM currently still uses the J2000 position of the SCP. I use Astrotortilla to sync the initial position before I start a PAM run and again if I have to make a big adjustment in azimuth or elevation. PAM then uses PinPoint which works fine so long as the scope position is not too far out. I align to a slight offset from the J2000 pole using the spreadsheet numbers to tell me the real position of the pole.
Cheers,
Rick.
