I think its a lack of anti reflection coatings on the CCD chamber window.
I'll take it up with Terry Platt. The camera is good apart from that.

Be interested to hear what Terry says but I don't think it is the camera as such Greg, it could be your specific scope-filters combo though
but also simply big bright stars combined with a small field so the halos look larger
..not sure
