Looking at the second image on that thread...all the levels of wavelet corrections are ticked at very low numbers..this is not the way to use them.
When applying wavelets start down the bottom at #6 and change the setting until in the preview screen the image starts to clean up, without noise. Then move to #5 and do the same.
I don't usually, or very sparingly, use #2 or#1 - these can give noise speckles and over contrasty looks.
