Well first light for me last night was a fantastic event - was so great to examine even that thin wedge of moon in such detail before she set, and then followed immediately by my first real view of saturn ever! I doubt I will ever forget just how beautiful and graceful she looked moving across space that way!

SO many great sights, so many great peole helping us find them in the heavens ... thanks to all: Paul, Ron, Terry, John, Wes & his great family, William, etc ... wonderful to meet other newbies too like Alan & (Mrs Alan) - sorry!

I didn't have a logbook to keep records but I KNOW I saw all of the following:
Moon, Saturn, Jupiter + 3 moons, Mars (the standard bodies , but thrilling none the less!) Aldeberan (SO beautiful, my first truly magnificent star!!!) Betelguese, Sirius, Canopus (?), Antares, Castor & Pollux, Crux (examined each point in detail), The "Jewel Box", ("the" or "a") Globular Cluster, the Leonid Triplet(hope I got that right), Etta Corinya (will have to upgrade spell check to include all of these), the Orion nebula, in fact I spent quite some time examing much of Orion ..... I know I saw many other stunning sites I just can't remember them all.

Thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome - look forward to seeing you all again soon!
