KAI16070 sensor

I noticed a recent image was done using a FLI Proline 16070 camera. So I looked up this sensor. I think this is a fairly recent sensor True Image has put out.

7.4 micron pixels and 15.7mp in a 35mm sized chip. Other specs seem very similar to the more usual KAI11002 sensor which has 9 micron pixels.

I guess it would suit a shorter, faster focal length scope where the corrected circle or the preference of the imager is for rectangular images.

Another choice when making a decision about cameras. Instead of the usual KAI11002 you could opt for a bit more resolution with much the same QE etc (48% versus 50%).
