I heard they were throwing around lifting the restriction on use of phones and electronic devices during take off and landing, but this is the first I've heard of lifting the ban on actual calls.
Personally, I think they should be allowed to be used, but we should take a leaf out of Japan's book and ban phone calls on all public transport - send and receive texts, by all means, but no calls. Its just a common courtesy to other passengers.
