Mike, you're in the midst of a planetary imaging tips blitz. This is great stuff.
I'm of a mind to start posting all my images as LRGB and then the B&W images for R, G and B channels separately,. It really reveals fine detail you can't see in the combined. I notice the ALPO guys do this routinely.
