Interesting twist to the debate. I'd just chime in that when I had an issue with a coffee machine, Hardly Normal put me on to the manufacturers support line, in much the way Steve has given you a direct line to Extravision, the Aussie importer and tech support guys.

Isn't that better customer service than sending the unit back and waiting?
