I had a tinker at this data. When you stack the data you should scale it at the same time. It needed to go through CCDstack to open the data out again.

I did not stretch to hard myself but noticed that this looks like a median combine. I think sum would work better for this data.

What filter are you using. Is this NII?

Anyway, I did some stretching, smooth background a little, and did a curves adjustment too it. I think your original version was black point clipped and had this odd look to the background. I find less is more. You may not agree. I had to mask in the core too to get it looking less blown out. If you stretch the data too hard with something like shadows and highlights it can look too flat.
