My philosiphy I guess you could call it is to keep it simple. I like to be 'intimate' with the night sky so the less complexity the better. The fancy Meades and their robotic mounts are good for serious astro imagers with lotsa spare money but I am happy with my 3 basic telescopes. As for size my biggest telescope is 300mm and any bigger it starts to be a hassle to move and use so for me I don't really suffer from aperture fever either.
Boy I'm easily pleased
