Huh why can't I edit my original post... I was hoping to use it to update progress. Oh well I guess not.
Anyway progress update:- Initial schematics completed
- Parts on order
- Presently testing DHT22 humidity sensor.
So far we are moving well. I still need to test the prox switches, dew controller, and relay drivers.
Have yet to come up with how to do a USB reset but right now I think I'm going to try holding the data pins low on the way to the USB hub. If the devices don't report in several times a second they drop off and may be forced to reconnect.
I've decided to try and drive the computer directly and switch to an ATMEGA32u4 chip with built in USB controllers. This may not work. I've no experience with how much overhead a USB library takes but I guess we'll find out soon enough.
Also I've decided to drive the relays via an I2C port expander. This will make designing the circuit board easier at the cost of about $2.00.
