an aside question - how fast were you capturing the data - for some reason at full res i only can manage 14fps?

Seeing really is what makes or breaks these high resolution images and today I was very lucky to encounter some excellent moments of steadiness in the skies above our back yard. When good seeing is married to incredible apps like AutoStakkert2, Registax and CS6 with plug-ins, the results can really pop!
Previously, I’ve had somewhat variable results with frame rates but on the last couple of outings, I did register that I was getting around 29 and 30 fps at 1280x960 using Firecapture and everything seem stable.
The only crash occurred when I was nosing around the system and “ticked” the AVI greater than 4GB box in one of the panels and then hit record – the app just closed. When I re-opened it the box was unchecked (i.e. it didn’t stick) and all appeared normal.
