Converting a 6" dob for AP
Hi Jas,
You will probably find with your 6" dob scope that you may not be able to get the camera in far enough with the focuser to get focus if you use a DSLR. You may have to move the main mirror forward a bit in the tube. I'm guessing you have something like an F8. That would make a fine guide scope for a light bucket with a camera! I have a Nexstar 114mm (4.25") newt that I am going to set up as a guider for my 8" AP setup. It's a pretty ordinary scope but it should work well as a guider. I have made up a side by side bracket and have ordered the rings to mount it. Can't wait to try it out!
