Copy that Jo, I to like the deeper background galaxies showing up next to a local one it gives a feeling of the extreme proportions of the universe. Go the diffraction spikes and fast newtonians.

I'm a big fan of galaxies no matter how often they are imaged. I personally have done 253 about ten times and I like compare the improvements over the years. I find it a great yard stick to see if I'm getting any better. (sometimes worse)

As for mounts issues, I feel your pain, my ATM Horse Shoe has given me a few headaches over the years of construction and refinement, but now it is pointing and tracking beautifully, so the pain wasn't without reward. And now astronomy is again a truly enjoyable and relaxing hobby for me.

Great to see your setup is now a decent digger in the sandpit of stars.
