NGC 6726 et al

SPX350 F4.5, ST10XME, Astrodon LRGB filters. LLRGB.

Thought I would test the ST10 on a bright star object to see how bad bloom spikes would be and if they can be easily removed. NGC6726 is a complicated area with three 6-7th mag stars in reflection nebula and a 5min sub showed a bloom spike the whole height of the sensor from the bright double star.

CCDops made a better job of spike removal from subs compared to Maxim leaving only the faintest traces in the finished image. I used 1min subs set to clean around the bright stars.

I had guiding problems and breeze so I binned the colour, it turns out I was not properly polar aligned.

Results look good but as usual I should have spent longer on the colour and luminance and not binning would have been better. I added an extra luminance to sharpen a bit more as LL RGB.

L=18x5min Binx1.
RG=6x5min Binx2 each.
B=5x10min Binx2.

L binx1 + RGB binx2=12x1min each.

Thanks, John.
