Next year, 2014, it will be 50 years since the first telescope was built at Siding Spring Observatory, and 40 years since the Anglo-Australian Telescope was opened. So make sure you're around for next year's SSO open day. (Sorry, we don't have the exact date nailed down, but it's likely to be October again.)
