I feel your pain tracking down small mount niggles. You can spend days chasing your tale with minimal results. And then presto you found the issue and you kick yourself about not finding it earlier. It almost takes the fun out of astronomy and then you get it all working, slewing, tracking and guiding like a champ and it is all worth it. Like fishing I suppose when you bag the big one.
Great image I can barely see the issue if you hadn't said anything about eggy stars I wouldn't have pick it, but if your like me it stands out like a sore thumb because you know it is there.
