Qld Astrofest Images
Hi All
This is the first real chance I've had to post some of my images. I got them into our local club's newsletter but I thought it might be worth showing them off here too.
I am extremely happy with 2 of them so far. They are a huge improvement to last years.
They are M31 and Crux region.
Both are taken with my Canon 50D at 3200ISO (I know, I know the noise. But I only have a short duration for reliable tracking using the 300mm lens) on the Losmandy StarLapse.
M31 is roughly 4 hours of 2-3 min subs over 3 different nights.
Crux was made up of about 40 mins of 3 min subs from one evening.
After 10 days of less than 4 hrs of sleep each night and kids up at 6:30am, I think it was worth the effort. I can't wait till next year. The one night travel/setup/observe/sleep/pack-up of weekend camps are not as enjoyable as Astrofest.
