Thanks Jorge. Yeah these are some little teething issues which I'm still working on. Spikes can be a problem when too many, true. The pleiades are probably the worst to image with a scope that has any kind of spider vanes. I don't know of an effective way to remove them. It's not like blooming that you can get rid of quite easily and reject at stacking time because of the signal's strength. Spikes are sometime fainter than the surroundding nebulosity and quite extended. They should make a spike content aware brush tool in PS to paint them out
