If you already have an astro modified camera and shoot with fairly dark skies, a filter will just slow you down. If you have some mild to moderate light pollution then something like a CLS filter may help.
The other thing with UHC filters is that they are not all designed for photography. Ones that will work for single shot colour need to have passbands at both OIII / green and Ha / red. Some brands of UHC only pass the green part of the spectrum. They are fine for visual use but lack enough spectrum for single shot colour that photography needs.
