That's because the NexImage 5 has the same specs as The Imaging Source's DFK-72AUCO2 USB CMOS camera:

After you install Celestron's NexImage 5 software on your computer, a driver called "Processor Idle-State Manager" authored by The Imaging Source is loaded every time you start your computer.

Celestron probably struck a deal with The Imaging Source to have their DFK-72AUCO2 manufactured in China under Celestron's name. That's why the NexImage 5 costs $100 less than the German camera.
