With regard to your star blobs, how do you ensure that you are focussing
accurately? because I am sure you have a focus problem. It has to be
absolutely spot on to get pinpoint stars. I assume you are using a
DSLR, if so are you using Live View to focus, or perhaps a Bahtinov
mask. Do you take some trial short exposures, and make sure your focus is spot on before starting your evening's imaging?
