The distortion above the MW can be reduced by a Panorama Head like Nodal Ninja 4 or by having a bit more headroom above it and trying various projection methods for the Panorama. I think its transverse mercator that gives the least distortion in that spot.

I will reprocess the pano at some point to remove the distortion, believe me, it bugs me no end.
Yes, I do try to shoot extra headroom these days, that just didn't work out this time. I do definitely need a panorama head as then I could work out the angles properly for the second row of images, at the moment it is a bit of a guess
